Current Volunteer Opportunities

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Pembroke Public Library (ON) supports the Pembroke Public Library by fundraising, promoting Library services, volunteering at the Library when required and by advocating for the Library. New Friends members are always welcome!

Readers are Leaders

This program is to help children develop reading skills, with one-on-one attention from a Library volunteer. Running for  6-8 week sessions, each about an hour in duration and held throughout the school year. Please note this program is for children from Kindergarten to grade 4.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

Help improve our Teen Zone by joining the Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Meetings are held once a month, to join just show up! Have a say about what goes on in your library, assist with special programs, book displays, promote the library and more! This group is open to teens in grades 6-12 and can help you obtain community service hours.

Volunteer

Call or visit the library to become a volunteer. Help us shelve books, shelf-read, mend books, assist with programs and more! Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and are required to complete a volunteer application package, including a Criminal Records Check. The application will be given to Simon, our Volunteer Coordinator, who will then provide a letter to waive the Police Record Check fee. After submitting the Records Check, the volunteer must attend an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Library CEO.
