Extension Services (Home Delivery)

Delivery

If you are living in the City of Pembroke or the Township of Laurentian Valley and cannot visit the Library due to illness, injury or disability, you are eligible to have library materials delivered to your home or residence. Whether this service is required temporarily, seasonally, or long-term, Pembroke Public Library offers this program year round. Click HERE to find our Extension Services Policy.

The Extension Service program currently delivers to the following community organizations:

How Do I Sign Up?

Contact the library if you are interested in applying for the home delivery service. You will need a library membership, if you don’t already have one, our staff will create one for you. Next, our staff will have you fill out an Extension Service Application Form which will ask you about your likes, dislikes, preferred formats and the quantity of items you would like delivered.

  • Non-Fiction Books
  • Magazines (regular print)
  • Reader’s Digest Magazine (large print)
  • Talking Books (Books on CD)
  • DVD’s
  • Music Cd’s

Load Periods

Items will be on loan to your account from the day they are dropped off until the day they are picked up. Delivery and pick up dates will vary depending on the number of items and the availability of staff and volunteers. Overdue Fines & Fees

You will not be charged for late returns on your extension services membership, our staff will ensure that their delivery dates do not cause overdues on your account. However, you will be responsible to pay the FULL replacement cost for any damaged or lost materials.

CELA Collections & Services

If you have a print disability, we can register you with the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA). This Canadian organization provides access to published works in alternative formats for library patrons with print disabilities.
