TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities. This free program is offered at 2,000 public libraries across Canada, and it’s easy to include in any summer plans. The Club celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, and inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way. This is key to building a lifelong love of reading. This year’s theme: Canada 150!

Introducing, the Pembroke Library Drama Club! For one week, we are replacing all regular 3:00 programs with this special summer 2017 program. Beginning Monday, August 8th, and ending Friday, August 11; we will exercise our creative minds through a number of warm-ups and games! We will also be working on two special productions. ‘Walking in the Library’ is a music video we will be rehearsing and filming for children 4-7. Our second project is Dr. Seuss’, ‘One Fish, Two Fish’, a play to be rehearsed and performed by children 8+. Space may be limited.

Welcome to Jump Into Culture, our summer 2017 program focused on exploring the globe! On every Friday at 3:00 pm, we will learn about art, food and different traditions from locations all over the world! Ages 5+. Space may be limited.
Introducing the Library Laboratory! As part of our 2017 summer program, Library Laboratory will be held on Mondays @ 3:00 pm. We’ll be conducting some crazy experiments, so bring your scientific minds and put your theories to the test! Ages 6+. Space may be limited.

The Pembroke Public Library is pairing up with Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch for a Family Storytime! At 10:30 am on July 22nd meet us at the ranch for stories, play and fun that suits the whole family. There’s lots of stuff to do at Hugli’s including the play park, blueberry picking, mazes, petting zoo, ice cream and gift shop! This summer the Pembroke Public Library is teaming up with Skyza Inflatables! They’ve got lots of cool stuff; from bouncy slides to human bowling; Skyza is always a good time. Reptilian Adventures: Welcome to the Reptile Rainforest! You may recognize this program from last summer; yep, it’s back again! At 10:30 am on August 19th bring the whole family to the museum for stories and an adventure through time.
